BPU Announces April 29 Build Green Conference Speakers

(KANSAS CITY, KS.) The Kansas City Board of Public Utilities’ (BPU) fifth annual Build Green Conference will host several excellent speakers including the Kansas Lieutenant Governor and the Mayor/CEO of the Unified Government of Wyandotte County/Kansas City Kansas.    The Conference is scheduled for Thursday, April 29, 2010 at the Jack Reardon Convention Center in Kansas.
 
Kansas Lieutenant Governor Troy Findley leads the Governor’s Energy Sub-cabinet Team.  His work has focused on taking advantage of the state’s renewable energy assets.  He has advocates Kansas as the “Missing Link in America’s Power Grid” and works toward building a lasting infrastructure in the State.
 
Joe Reardon, Mayor/CEO, Unified Government of Wyandotte County/Kansas City, will discuss the many energy efficiency green initiatives taking place under his administration.  
 
Other Conference speakers will include Ken Perdue, Environmental Initiatives Manager, Staples; David Drescher, Vice President, John Deere Renewables; and Keith Worrel, “The KC House Whisperer”.  A complete list of presenters can be found at www.bpu.com.
 
Many exhibitors will return to the Conference displaying “green” products and services for homeowners and businesses.  Student from Bishop Ward High School in Kansas City, Kansas, will also display their “Solar Powered Bike” in the exhibition hall.
 
The all-day Conference begins at 8:00 a.m. at the Jack Reardon Convention Center, 500 Minnesota Avenue, in Kansas City, KS.  Supporting sponsors include Staples Advantage, Tetra-Tech, and Wyandotte Publishing.
 
Registration for the Build Green Conference is $35, and includes continental breakfast, lunch, and door prizes.  Registration after April 8 will be $45.
