BPU Board Elects New Officers
(KANSAS CITY, Ks.) — Members of the Kansas City Board of Public Utilities recently elected new officers to the Board. New officers include: John Pettey, President; Terry Eidson, Vice President; David Alvey, Secretary.
Before being elected Board President, John Pettey served as BPU Board Vice President. He has been on the BPU Board of Directors since 1995 and previously served as President of the Board in 2001-2002.
“As one of the top public utilities in the country, BPU will continue to provide quality utility services while working to improve customer services, expand public outreach and reduce costs,: said Pettey. “I look forward to working closely with other board members to maintain and better this publicly owned utility company”.
A life-long resident of the Turner area, Mr. Pettey is semi-retired from the real estate and insurance business. He is a substitute teacher in the Turner School District and manages several properties. In addition, he is active in the Turner Lions Club, on the board of United Way’s Tri-County Smart Start program and president of the Argentine Activities Association.
Other elected officers are Terry Eidson, Vice President, and David Alvey, Secretary. Eidson has served on the board since 2007, and will work closely with Pettey in their new roles. Alvey is a BPU Member-at-Large and was first elected to the board in 2009.
The officers are members of the American Public Power Association, American Water Works Association and Kansas Municipal Utilities. They will hold their officer positions for one year.
