Custom Heating-System Program

To make your business more energy efficient, this custom program is designed to encourage BPU’s business customers to purchase and install high-efficiency heating-system equipment in existing buildings, focusing primarily on large-space heating and cooling systems and control systems.

Once you have identified an energy-efficient heating project you want to install, simply submit your proposal to BPU for pre-approval. Call the number listed below for advice and assistance on getting started. Or, if you prefer, we’ll work with you to plan energy-efficiency measures that meet your individual needs for remodeling or expansion.

To be eligible for this incentive, equipment must be installed by customers who purchase their electric energy in Kansas City, Kansas, from BPU. Examples of energy-efficient equipment that may qualify for rebates are:
  • High-efficiency electric boilers over 2.5 million Btu input capacity
