What is an Integrated Resource Plan (IRP)?
An IRP is a study that looks at how BPU can reliably, affordably, and sustainably serve its customers. BPU is required to file an IRP with the Western Area Power Administration, an agency of the Department of Energy, every five years.
How is BPU conducting the IRP?
BPU has partnered with Black & Veatch to conduct the IRP that will evaluate various resource portfolios in conjunction with BPU’s long-term planning objectives including System Reliability, Minimizing Rate Impacts, Environmental Stewardship, and Regulatory Compliance.
