Promoting Sustainable Energy Strategies and Technology
(KANSAS CITY, Kan.) — The Kansas City Board of Public Utilities (BPU), along with
other regional utility companies, is helping host the Electric League of Kansas and
Missouri’s Energy Forum 2023 on August 15, 2023. This all-day conference is intended
to educate industry professionals, organizations, and customers on various
sustainability initiatives, best practices, available technologies, and incentive
opportunities at the state and federal level.
Electric industry professionals and experts will provide real-world case studies and
lessons learned on topics such as: The Path to Being Carbon Free; Solar Energy 101;
Energy Management; Electronic Vehicles & Charging Incentives, etc. Speakers and
panelists will provide actionable recommendations to help utilities, businesses, and
customers reach their sustainability goals involving building/plants/facilities, electric
vehicles (EV) and electric fleets, solar projects, and EV charging options – and saving
money while doing so. Vendors will also be available to answer questions from
sustainability managers, developers, facilities managers, fleet managers, utility
practitioners, electric suppliers, and various service providers.

Courtney Conner, Supervisor Distribution Engineering at BPU is current President of
the Electric League of Kansas and Missouri’s 14-person Board of Directors. He is a
terrific ambassador for BPU and helping lead and direct regional utilities and vendors
efforts to promote and utilize sustainability and green energy initiatives.
