Applicants Sought for BPU Community Engagement Committee

 

(KANSAS CITY, Kan.)The Kansas City Board of Public Utilities (BPU) is seeking applications from individuals/small businesses interested in becoming a Community Ambassador for the utility’s new Community Engagement Committee (CEC).

The CEC is intended to provide a roundtable process for community members to offer feedback and issues to BPU CEC Board Members by increasing awareness and dissemination to the entire BPU Board of Directors and appropriate staff for potential action.

The CEC will be comprised of three BPU Elected Board Members, one of which will be designated the CEC Chair by other Board Members. The CEC will also include up to 10 community members that will be designated as Community Ambassadors, with the committee meeting on a quarterly basis initially. Qualifications to be a CEC Community Ambassador include being a resident or small business of Wyandotte County for at least the last 12 consecutive months, a current BPU customer, and the ability to serve a minimum two-year term on the CEC.

The deadline for application consideration is July 25th, 2023.

A steering committee comprised of Wyandotte County residents will choose the Community Ambassadors to participate in the CEC.
